Luis Manuel Meneses, 90, Chicago (West Elsden) resident, passed away on May 3, 2017 in Los Angeles, California.

Born in Mexico City on July 25, 1926, Luis immigrated to Chicago in 1953 where he met his wife of 58 years Miraslava (Marilyn) Tarandy-Meneses. He is survived by his wife (Marilyn), sister (Maruca Meneses) and four Children; Louis Jr., Steven (Natalie –spouse), Alexandra and David Dimitri (Elizabeth-spouse), and his eight grandchildren Andrea, David Jr., Samantha, Madisen, Lauren, Isabella, Massimo and Stella.
Luis served Chicago patrons with his delight, love of life and customer service while working at the Pump Room, serving the likes of Marilyn Monroe, Clark Gable and Frank Sinatra along with the Queen of England. His tenure at the infamous Chez Paree during the 1950's and 60's and as the Maitre'D of Chez Paul on Rush Street for 30 years made his passion for people his life's work.
A lover of golf, Luis played on the links of the classic Tam O'shanter golf course and every course within the Chicago Area, but he loved the nine hole Marquette Park city course to "stay in touch with his swing". He was also a 30-year member of the Oak Lawn Tennis Club, where he never missed a 6:30 am tennis game with his friends. Luis was a member of the Brother Rice Dad's Club, Mother McCauley Fathers Club, and volunteered and was a member of Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Ukrainian Catholic (Palos Park, IL.)
