Joseph E. Goga, 55, September 6, 2020, lifelong resident of the South Side
of Chicago-Canaryville neighborhood; loving father of Shannon Baier and
proud grandfather of Kaelee Skye Baier and Mary Kathryn Baier; beloved son
of Anita Goga and Jim (Mercedes) Goga, CPD-retired; devoted brother of Jim
(Michelle) Goga, Eileen (Joe) Fogarty, Bob (Margie) Goga, CFD, Margie Goga,
Karyn (Fred) Montijo and Cindy (late Bill) Goga; uncle of 18, great uncle of
5; as well as a good friend to many.

Joe was a friend to anyone who met him. He will always be remembered for his
gentle spirit, a hearty laugh, an extensive vocabulary and his undeniable
love of music. He also had an affinity for the color purple, earning the
nickname "Grape Ape." He loved letting his "freak flag fly." Joe worked at
the Board of Trade for many years before going back to school for his
massage therapy license. He took great pride in education and learning.

To honor his life and memory, the family is requesting guests to wear shirts
that fit Joe's personality such as band shirts, purple, or wild prints.

Services at McINERNEY CENTRAL CHAPEL, 4635 S. Wallace St., Chicago, IL,
where family and friends will gather on Thursday, September, 17, 2020, from
3p.m. until 8 p.m. Wake Service at 7:45 p.m. Rev. Bill McFarlane,
officiating. Cremation has already taken place. PLEASE NOTE THAT COVID19
RESTRICTIONS FOR MAXIMUM GATHERING, 50 PERSONS AT A TIME, WILL BE OBSERVED.
MASKS REQUIRED.
