Tribute & Message From The Family

Leslie Juliet Sokol, age 80, passed away on Sat., Sept. 29, 2018 in Chicago, IL. She was born on Feb.18, 1938 in New York City to Beaulah Charlat and Rene Sorel. She graduated from the Pratt Institute of Design in New York City with a bachelor's degree in fine arts and spent most of her career as an interior designer.

Leslie enjoyed designing office space and layouts for corporate clients and helped friends with interior design ideas for their homes. She also loved the Arts. At age 23 she moved to Mexico City after marrying the love of her life, Burton Sokol. Then in 1977 they moved their family to San Antonio, TX. Leslie was a tremendous partner to her husband Burt, loving, supportive and an incredible mother to her children. Leslie lived life to the fullest, traveled the world, was amazingly positive and kind to everyone she met. She was her children's biggest cheerleader all throughout her life.

Leslie was preceded in death by her husband, Burton Sokol. She is survived by her son, David Sokol (Amy), daughter, Diana Sokol Roth (Scott) two beautiful granddaughters, Jessica Sokol and Allison Sokol, and step-grandson Daniel Roth (Jessica).

A graveside service will be held at 11am on Fri., Oct. 5, 2018 at Agudas Achim Memorial Gardens (Austin Hwy) with Rabbi Avraham Scheinberg officiating.

Regarding Jewish custom we will not have flowers delivered to the service.

Condolence & Memory Journal

My fondest memory is when Leslie visited us at Horseshoe Bay. I can see her sitting on the deck reading. She said it was like being on a cruise, and it me realize how much I loved the place. She enjoyed it so much, she bought a place there. I loved her for that. May it comfort her family to know she lived life to it's fullest.

We were so sorry to learn of your mother's passing. She was a lovely lady, a gracious host and a valued neighbor to all of us in Inverness. She will be missed. Please accept our heartfelt sympathy.
